Buffalo Bills are (and have been) one of the worst teams in the league for about a decade. Since the 1998 & 1999 seasons they have only posted 1 season in 2004 (9-7) with a winning record (8-8 in 2000 & 2002 dont count).
Countless draft busts, poor management, shitty small market, and coaches who could not climb out of the shadow of Bill Belichick (2x per yer and they havent beaten him since the 2003 season opened) have resulted in a loser mentality for all who end up in Buffalo.
However, they have quietly been constructing a linebacker core that could balance out their defense. They acquired Shawn Merriman last year. They picked Nick Barnett (former inside llinebacker for thePack) and just signed Kirk Morrison. Their defensive backfield ranked 3rd in the league last year, but that may be because they gave up the most rushing yards and were ranked dead last.
A veteran group of linebackers maybe the key for them to start to turn that team around. Look to see how healthy Merriman really is.
Is this on anyone elses's radar?
Great post Chris
