Bass was also phenomenal off of the scoreboard, and formed close-knit bonds with all of his Celtic teammates. He became a silent leader who played by example and worked his way to a starting position on the Celtics roster. He has recently expressed a strong desire to return to Boston, which is a great sign in my opinion. We all saw, (or at least I saw), Bass raise it to another level in the Celtics postseason run this year. His season highlight actually came in the playoffs when he scored a career playoff-high 27 points in the pivotal game 5 against Philadelphia.

Bass Back to Boston?
Celtics PF Brandon Bass will opt out of the final year of his contract, making him an unrestricted free agent as of this summer. Bass was entitled to a $4.25 million option for the 2012-2013 season that carried over from his contract with Orlando. The Celtics traded away Big Baby Davis for Brandon Bass back in 2011. Bass has worked well in Boston, averaging career highs in points (12.5) and rebounds (6.2) per game this past season. Bass also became a defensive staple for the Celtics, and in tandem with Kevin Garnett hewas a defensive force, allowing a measly 0.673 points per play this season. More importantly, he was also the missing piece of the puzzle the Celtics needed in order to move Kevin Garnett to the center position. This change opened things up for the Celtics, who boasted an impressive 24-10 record after the All-Star break when they made the change.
