Wes Welker has done nothing but been Mr Consistent since being in a Patriots uniform. So why aren't the Patriots paying the WR? I wish I had an answer for you but I don't all I know is that since 2007 Wes has played in 77 games, had 554 receptions, racked up 6,105 yards, scored 31 TD's. I'd say that was the stats of a superstar don't you? I know that playing procrastinator is the"Patriot way" but lets not overlook the connection that Brady and Welker have.
I know a lot of people feel the same way as I do which is great, and Welker has also stated that he has "9.5 Million reasons" why he won't sit out this year. I feel that is a very classy move on his part, especially when you have people like Darrell Revis that is planning on sitting out "again" to get another pay out. I'm not oppose to players getting paid I just feel they could do it like Wes.
Tom Brady will certainly have massive amount of targets to throw to this year with a big receiving core. Lets take a gander at his targets shall we? Brandon Lloyd, Donte Stallworth, Jabar Gaffney, Wes Welker, Deion Branch, and of course Chad Johnson (not to sure if he will even make the roster). And that's not all he still has Rob "The Gronk" Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez.
In my opinion I feel that Wes Welker should be paid Brandon Lloyd type money, what are your thoughts?
Welker should be paid by the Pats and I'd be surprised if it didn't happen. 3 years $27mill should get it done. That type of deal wouldn't be too long but still should be enough for Welker.
