AFC North Predictions

Welcome back for my second installment of "Sports Blaggah's" NFL predictions 2012
In this segment I am going to exploring the AFC North

Cincinnati Bengals (11-5) The Bengals had a great 2011 season, all with a rookie QB Andy Dalton. With Marvin Lewis at the helm the Bengals have gotten better and better. Lets take a look at the newest members of the Bengals and some important games.

Reggie Nelson (S) re-signed/unrestricted free agent (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Jason Allen (CB) signed/unrestricted free agent.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis (RB) signed/unrestricted
Adam Jones (CB) re-signed/unrestricted free agent.
Manny Lawson (LB) re-signed/unrestricted free agent.
The Bengals don't seem to have made a big splash in FA (free agency) but they have a solid young core that will make them contenders for a while. Now lets take a gander at the important games. Week 1, 7, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17
Week 1 is against the Ravens (Away)
Week 7 is against the Steelers (Home)
Week 9 is against the Broncos (Home)
Week 10 is against the (Home)
Week 15 is against the Eagles (Away)
Week 16 is against the Steelers (Away) this is the second meeting between these two teams
Week 17 is against the Ravens (Home) this is the second meeting between these two teams
In all honesty I think the Bengals have a pretty good shot this year, however being in a division with the Ravens and Steelers will prove to be difficult

Baltimore Ravens (12-4) The Baltimore Ravens are always a team that is mentioned in the same sentence as the Superbowl. With veteran leaders like Ray Lewis (mister Raven) and loud mouth Terrell Suggs the Ravens are always a team with attitude and poise. Let's take a look at some of the FA signings and important games.
Curtis Painter (QB) signed (one-year contract (through 2012)).
Asa Jackson (CB) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Jacoby Jones (WR) signed (two-year contract (through 2013)).
Bernard Pollard (S) re-signed (three-year extension (through 2015)).
Christian Thompson (S) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Kelechi Osemele (G) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Gino Gradkowski (G) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
DeAngelo Tyson (DE) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Courtney Upshaw (LB) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Tommy Streeter (WR) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Bernard Pierce (RB) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
The Ravens did a great job getting all their draft picks signed, but didn't really make a name for themselves in FA. That's ok they still have Ray Rice and *cough cough* Joe Flacco.
Here are the important games this year,Week 1, 2, 3, 7, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17
Week 1 is against the Bengals (Home)
Week 2 is against the Eagles (Away)
Week 3 is against the Patriots (Home) (AFC Championship reunion)
Week 7 is against the Texans (Away)
Week 11 is against the Steelers (Away)
Week 13 is against the Steelers (Home) this is the second meeting between these two teams and I'm sure the tempers will be flaring.
Week 15 is against the Broncos (Home)
Week 16 is against the Giants (Home)
Week 17 is against the Bengals (Away) this is the second meeting between these two teams.
All in all I think its going to be a tough division this year for the Ravens, however I feel that the Ravens will come in second place and loose a tough one against the Steelers.

Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4) The Pittsburgh Steelers are the cream of the crop in this division (remember my opinion) with a very solid coach in Mike Tomlin. The Steelers defense has to be one of the top out there. I am not a James Harrison fab what so ever but I have to give him a tad bit of credit for being a force. Let's take a look at the Steelers signings and important games. Doug Legursky (G) re-signed/restricted free agent (one-year contract (through 2012)).
Trai Essex (G) re-signed/unrestricted free agent (one-year contract (through 2012)).
Jerricho Cotchery (WR) re-signed/unrestricted free agent (two-year contract (through 2013)).
David Johnson (TE) re-signed/restricted free agent (one-year contract (through 2012)).
Keenan Lewis (CB) re-signed/restricted free agent (one-year contract (through 2012)).
Ryan Mundy (S) re-signed/restricted free agent (one-year contract (through 2012)).
Steve McLendon (NT) re-signed/exclusive rights free agent.
Jeremy Kapinos (P) re-signed/exclusive rights free agent.
Isaac Redman (RB) re-signed/exclusive rights free agent.
Chris Rainey (RB) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Alameda Ta'amu (NT) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Toney Clemons (WR) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Terrence Frederick (CB) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
David Paulson (TE) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Mike Adams (T) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015))
One very important contract that I didn't list is the original running QB Mr Kordell Stewart. He signed a one day contract and retired. Here are the important games, week 1, 2, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 16
Week 1 is against the Broncos (Away)
Week 2 is against the Jets (Home)
Week 5 is against the Eagles (Home)
Week 7 is against the Bengals (Away)
Week 9 is against the Giants (Away)
Week 11 is against the Ravens (Home)
Week 13 is against the Ravens (Away) like I said earlier in my post, this is sure to be a sloberknocker
Week 16 is against the Bengals (Home) this is the second meeting between these two teams
My true thought is that the Steelers will win the division, even with the Bengals improving and the Ravens being a pest.

Cleveland Browns (8-8) Boy oh boy, what can I say about the Browns that hasn't already been said. Do I think they will be a contender? I have to be honest and say no, so let's take a look at the signings and important games for the Browns shall we?
Frostee Rucker (DE) signed/unrestricted free agent (five-year contract (through 2016)).
Oniel Cousins (T) re-signed/unrestricted free agent.
Juqua Parker (DE) signed/unrestricted free agent (one-year contract (through 2012)).
Dimitri Patterson (CB) re-signed/unrestricted free agent (three-year contract (through 2014)).
Alex Smith (TE) re-signed/unrestricted free agent (one-year contract).
Phil Dawson (K) re-signed/franchise (one-year contract (through 2012)).
Jordan Norwood (WR) re-signed/exclusive rights free agent.
James-Michael Johnson (LB) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Brad Smelley (RB) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Travis Benjamin (WR) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Ryan Miller (G) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
Trevin Wade (CB) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).
John Hughes (DT) signed/draft choice (four-year contract (through 2015)).

So there you have it! there are all of your important signings, nothing crazy but not bad.
Here are the important games .... AH! the heck with it! all the games are important to the Browns this year. 8-8 is my opinion for them this year. (Good Luck).
